Known Application
IBOMA is a special monomer with many func-tions. The product has the unique bridge ring structure, endowing it with the special physical and chemical properties, low viscosity, high boiling point, low surface tension (low shrinkage) hight Tg, low cheromaticity, high refractive index, good hydrophobicity, soluble in various resins, solvents, pigments, low toxicity;non-flammable.
IBOMA applied in high solid acrylic resins : In the for mulation of acrylic resin, adding cycloester of methacrylate monomers (such as IBOMA) can effectively reduce the viscosity of polymer solution under the condition that the glass transition temperature, molecular weight and functional group quantity of polymer remain unchanged. Among various cyclo monomers, IBOMA is more effective to reduce the viscosity of polymer solutions.
IBOMA is a monomer with uniform hardness and flexibility.
Due to its molecular structure characteristics, its polymer has excellent highlight, fresh reflection, scratch resistance, medium resistance and weather resistance, and the hygr0-scopic is significantly lower than MMA (methyl methacrylate). In addition, acrylic resin added IBOMA is soluble in polyester, alkyd and film-forming materials of many volatile paints.
When IBOMA is used in powder coatings, its copolymer can improve the agglomerating property of the powder, improve the stability of the powder coating and reduce the phase melting viscosity, thus improving the leveling property of the coating and improving the appearance and luster of the coating.
IBOMA is suitable for manufacturing high Tg thermoplastic acrylic resin, the product has high hardness, high alcohol resistance & heat resistance, also has good flexibility & adhesion, wet resistance & weather resistance, is a new type structure which has the particularity of the acrylate monomer ;
IBOMA is suitable for manufacturing such as PET, PE, PP soft plastic film coating as well as PE, PP, PC engineering plastic decorative protection coating.
IBOMA can also be used in the fields of heat-resistant plastic optical fiber, adhesives, lithographic ink color carriers, modified powder coatings, cleaning coatings, and special plastics. It can also be used as active diluent, as a comonomer to give flexibility, and as a pigment dispersant to improve the copoly-mer.
