1. Agri­cul­tur­al Pest Con­trol (Pri­ma­ry Appli­ca­tion) Tar­get Pest : False Codling Moth (FCM, Thau­ma­totib­ia leu­cotre­ta) 2. Envi­ron­men­tal­ly Friend­ly Con­trol This method reduces the use of chem­i­cal pes­ti­cides and avoids pes­ti­cide residues, mak­ing it par­tic­u­lar­ly suit­able for export­ing fruit (the EU and US have strict quar­an­tine require­ments for FCM). It is con­sid­ered an envi­ron­men­tal­ly friend­ly con­trol method and is includ­ed in Inte­grat­ed Pest Man­age­ment (IPM). 3. Research Uses It is used to study the behav­ior and repro­duc­tive biol­o­gy of FCM. It is used as a mod­el com­pound to explore the syn­the­sis, release, and degra­da­tion mech­a­nisms of insect sex pheromones.
