UTP is a direct pre­cur­sor of RNA syn​the​sis​.It is close­ly with the car­bo­hy­drate metab­o­lism.UTP and 1 – phos­phate glu­cose to gen­er­ate UDP-glu­­cose and glu­cose phos­phate pyrophos­phate cat­alyzed by enzymes​.It is also pos­si­ble to gen­er­ate UDP-galac­­tose, UDP-galac­­tosamine, UDP-glu­­cose alde­hyde acid. 3. UTP can be used as bio­chem­i­cal reagent and inter­me­di­ate in the pro­duc­tion of nucleotide drugs.
