4,4′-Diaminooctafluorobiphenyl is com­mon­ly used in the syn­the­sis of high-per­­for­­mance poly­imides. These poly­imides exhib­it excel­lent ther­mal sta­bil­i­ty, mechan­i­cal prop­er­ties, and chem­i­cal resis­tance, mak­ing them suit­able for aero­space, elec­tron­ics, and high-tem­per­a­­ture environments.

It is also used in the syn­the­sis of pol­yarylether­ke­tones, which are high-strength, chem­i­cal­ly resis­tant, and high-tem­per­a­­ture-resis­­tant mate­ri­als suit­able for high-per­­for­­mance engi­neer­ing
plas­tics.

4,4′-Diaminooctafluorobiphenyl is used in the pro­duc­tion of align­ment lay­er mate­ri­als for liq­uid crys­tal dis­plays, improv­ing dis­play per­for­mance and sta­bil­i­ty.
