Product Description
CvXylB (Xylose Dehydrogenase), EC : 1.1.1.175, is derived from Caulobacter vibrioides and participates in the degradation of D-xylose — a primary constituent of hemicelluloses such as xylan. It catalyzes the initial reaction of the xylose utilization pathway by oxidizing D-xylose into D-xylono-1,4-lactone. It exhibits some activity toward L-arabinose but demonstrates negligible activity toward D-arabinose, L-xylose, D-ribose, D-galactose, D-glucose, or D-glucose-6-phosphate.
Unit Definition
One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that catalyzes the formation of 1 μmol of D-xylose-1,5-lactone from D-xylose at 37°C and pH 9.0.
Identification Methods
HNMR, HPLC
Purity
>90%
Enzyme activity
≥1U/mg
Buffer
20mMTris-HCl, pH7.5, 200mM NaCl, 10%glycerol
Suggested Procedure
- Add the substrate to the reaction system ; optionally, add a buffer salt (e.g., Tris-HCl) to adjust the pH to 9.0, followed by the addition of an appropriate amount of CvXylB (based on reaction requirements).
- After mixing, incubate the sample at 37°C for 1 – 2 hours.
[Note] When scaling up the reaction system, the incubation time or enzyme dosage should be adjusted according to actual conditions ; low-speed shaking may be used to facilitate mixing.
Storage
Transport with ice packs or dry ice ; store at -20°C ;
Shelf Life
18 months.
