Known Appli­ca­tion

Vit­a­min K2 is an endoge­nous, fat-sol­u­ble vit­a­min that plays a role in con­trol­ling bone growth and aging. It works by acti­vat­ing matrix Gla pro­tein (MGP) and osteo­cal­cin, which helps trans­port cal­ci­um ions from the blood to the bones, aid­ing in prop­er bone min­er­al­iza­tion and pro­mot­ing bone for­ma­tion. In addi­tion to increas­ing bone den­si­ty, it can also improve vas­cu­lar cal­ci­fi­ca­tion.
From the per­spec­tive of teeth them­selves, vit­a­min K2 can acti­vate osteo­cal­cin, a bone pro­tein that trig­gers mech­a­nisms for stim­u­lat­ing the growth of new den­tal tis­sue, result­ing in stronger teeth. From the per­spec­tive of gums, cal­ci­fi­ca­tion of the peri­odon­tal lig­a­ment is an ear­ly sign of many gum dis­eases. How­ev­er, vit­a­min K2 can pre­vent the cal­ci­fi­ca­tion of the peri­odon­tal lig­a­ment by acti­vat­ing matrix Gla pro­tein. There­fore, vit­a­min K2 can simul­ta­ne­ous­ly ben­e­fit both teeth and gums, pro­vid­ing com­pre­hen­sive pro­tec­tion for den­tal health.
