1,5-Cyclooctadiene, also known as COD, is an useful intermediate for many organic compounds, such as Suberic acid, octendioic acid, Low temperature plasticizer, Polyamide fiber monomer, and fire retardant, etc. It is widely used as additive for cis-1, 4-polybutadiene rubber, reactive diluent for epoxy resin, and is the main raw material for Dechlorane Plus (DCRP) and Bromide derivative. It also can be used as ligand in organometallic chemistry.
