  1. Phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal inter­me­di­ates
    This com­pound is often used as an inter­me­di­ate in the syn­the­sis of drugs, espe­cial­ly in the devel­op­ment of anti-inflam­­ma­­to­ry, antibac­te­r­i­al and anti­cancer drugs. Because it con­tains amino and keto groups, it can be fur­ther chem­i­cal­ly mod­i­fied for the syn­the­sis of bio­log­i­cal­ly active molecules.
  2. Reagents in organ­ic syn­the­sis
    As a key inter­me­di­ate in organ­ic syn­the­sis, 2-amino-5-chloroben­­zophe­none can be used to pre­pare het­e­ro­cyclic com­pounds, such as quina­zo­line, ben­z­im­i­da­zole and oth­er com­pounds.
