DNase I is an endonuclease that digests single- and double-stranded DNA to oligonucleotide containing a 5′ phosphate and 3′-hydroxylated ends. It is an essential enzyme for the efficient digestion of DNA during RNA purification and is suitable for molecular diagnostics and in vitro mRNA synthesis applications.
