Known Application

Iron (II) phthalocyanine is widely used in various scientific and industrial applications due to its strong absorption characteristics and stability.

  1. Dyes and pigments : Iron (II) phthalocyanine can be used as an organic dye or pigment for dyeing fibers, paints, inks and plastics.
  2. Photosensitizer : In some photosensitive materials, iron (II) phthalocyanine can be used as a photosensitizer or photocuring agent.
  3. Chemical sensors : Iron (II) phthalocyanine has specific photoelectrochemical properties and can be used as a sensing element of chemical sensors to detect specific substances in the environment.
  4. Medical applications : In medical imaging, iron (II) phthalocyanine is sometimes used as one of the components of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agents.
  5. Other applications : It may also be used in electrochemical research, photocells, liquid crystal displays and other fields.
