Known Application

Icaridin, also known as Picaridin, is a widely used and highly effective mosquito repellent. Its main uses are :

  1. Mosquito repellent and insect repellent : Icaridin is an effective insect repellent ingredient, especially for repelling mosquitoes, ticks, flies, fleas and other biting insects. Its insect repellent effect is long-lasting and does not irritate the skin, making it suitable for long-term outdoor activities or outdoor environments.
  2. Prevention of insect-borne diseases : Icaridin plays an important role in preventing the spread of insect-borne diseases by repelling mosquitoes that carry germs, such as those that spread dengue fever, malaria, Zika virus and other diseases. Its effect is recognized by many public health organizations and is particularly suitable for protection needs in areas with high incidence of epidemics.
  3. Daily and outdoor activity protection : Because Icaridin has the characteristics of low toxicity, no odor, mild and non-irritating, it is widely used in personal protection products such as mosquito repellent sprays, lotions, mosquito repellent patches, etc., and is suitable for children and sensitive people.

Due to its safety and effectiveness, Icaridin is considered one of the best insect repellent ingredients on the market and is widely used in mosquito repellent products around the world.

Advantages

The advantages of Icaridin in mosquito repellent products are mainly reflected in the following aspects. Compared with traditional mosquito repellent ingredients such as DEET and lemon eucalyptus oil, Icaridin is considered safer, more effective and more comfortable :

  1. Higher safety :
Icaridin is a low-toxic substance that is non-irritating to the skin and mucous membranes and will not cause allergic reactions. This makes it suitable for a wide range of people, including children and those with sensitive skin, while traditional mosquito repellent ingredients (such as high concentrations of DEET) may irritate sensitive skin.
  2. Odorless and comfortable to use :
Icaridin is colorless and odorless, light and non-greasy, and does not leave a noticeable odor or greasy feeling after use, which enhances the user experience. This makes it particularly suitable for daily use, especially in tropical and subtropical environments.
  3. Long-lasting protective effect :
Compared with other mosquito repellents, Icaridin has a long-lasting mosquito repellent effect, providing up to 8 to 12 hours of protection with a single use, without the need for frequent reapplication. In addition, it is effective against a variety of biting insects (such as mosquitoes, ticks, fleas, etc.).
  4. Non-corrosive to materials :
Unlike DEET, icaridin will not damage or corrode synthetic fibers, plastics, rubber and other materials, so it is suitable for spraying on clothing and equipment, especially when used outdoors without damaging personal equipment and clothing.
  5. Low toxicity and environmental protection :
Icaridin has low toxicity to the human body and the environment, and will not remain in the soil or water. It meets the needs of sustainable development and is suitable for use under stricter environmental protection and safety requirements.
  6. Wide applicability :
Because of its safety and mildness, icaridin is suitable for different populations, and can be used for adults, children and pregnant women. Therefore, it is recommended by multiple public health organizations and countries as a safe and reliable mosquito repellent ingredient.

Overall, icaridin has significant advantages in safety, user experience, durability and material compatibility. It is a new generation of mosquito repellent that has gained increasing recognition and application worldwide.
