Sub­strate in Enzyme Reac­tions : Phos­pho­enolpyru­vate (PEP) is a key inter­me­di­ate in the gly­col­y­sis path­way. The mono­cy­lo­hexy­lamine salt form of PEP can be used in vit­ro to study sub­strate behav­ior in enzyme reac­tions, espe­cial­ly in research involv­ing gly­col­y­sis or ener­gy metabolism.
