Sper­mi­dine is an impor­tant raw mate­r­i­al for phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal syn­the­sis and is wide­ly used in the syn­the­sis of phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal inter­me­di­ates. It can main­tain cell mem­brane sta­bil­i­ty, increase antiox­i­dant enzyme activ­i­ty, improve pho­to­sys­tem II (PSII) and relat­ed gene expres­sion ; inhib­it neu­ronal NO Syn­thetase (nNOS); binds and pre­cip­i­tates DNA ; also used to puri­fy DNA-bind­ing pro­teins ; stim­u­lates T4 polynu­cleotide kinase activity.
