Known Application

Tetrahydrothiophene is used as an organic solvent, commonly employed in chemical synthesis and laboratory operations, particularly in reactions involving some sulfur compounds.

Due to its sulfur-like odor, tetrahydrothiophene is used as an ingredient in food flavorings and fragrances, giving food and beverages a distinct aroma. And It can be used as a cross-linking agent and degradation agent in the rubber and polymer industry.

Tetrahydrothiophene is used as an oilfield chemical to address issues in crude oil extraction and processing, such as hydrogen sulfide removal.
