Tetramethylammonium hydroxide pentahydrate CAS 10424-65-4 is commonly used as a developer in photolithography processes for semiconductor manufacturing. It selectively dissolves the unexposed areas of photoresist, allowing the formation of patterns on silicon wafers.
It is also employed as a wet etchant for silicon and other materials in semiconductor fabrication. It provides good selectivity and controlled etching rates.
