Appli­ca­tion

This prod­uct is a plas­ti­ciz­er with strong sol­ven­cy for a vari­ety of resins. It is com­pat­i­ble with a vari­ety of cel­lu­lose resins, rub­bers, and vinyl resins. Good film for­ma­tion, adhe­sion and water repel­len­cy. It is usu­al­ly used in the pro­duc­tion of cel­lu­lose acetate film, var­nish, trans­par­ent paper and mold­ing pow­der in com­bi­na­tion with diethyl phtha­late. A small amount is used in the pro­duc­tion of nitro­cel­lu­lose. The prod­uct can also be used as a plas­ti­ciz­er for nitrile rub­ber, and the prod­uct has good cold resis­tance. Mixed with oth­er plas­ti­ciz­ers, it can over­come the dis­ad­van­tages of high volatil­i­ty and low tem­per­a­ture crys­tal­liza­tion. It can also be used as a sol­vent for mos­qui­to oil (crude oil) and DDT. This prod­uct is also used as a gas chro­mato­graph­ic fix­a­tive.
